Description
Born from Porsche’s Le Mans racing program, the 2004 Porsche Carrera GT is more than a supercar. It is a landmark in analogue performance engineering. At its heart sits a race bred 5.7 liter naturally aspirated V10, derived from a shelved prototype endurance racer, delivering 612 hp and 590 Nm to the rear wheels through a 6 speed manual gearbox with a ceramic composite clutch. This powertrain propels the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 330 km/h, figures that still command respect in today’s supercar world.
The Carrera GT is built around a carbon fiber reinforced polymer monocoque and subframe, a technology usually reserved for pure racing cars, contributing to a remarkably low kerb weight of about 1,380 kg. Double wishbone pushrod suspension, huge carbon ceramic brakes and a manually operated rear wing complete a chassis that feels as focused as it looks.
Designed under Harm Lagaay, the shape is purposeful and timeless, from the deep side intakes feeding that V10 to the removable roof panels that transform it into a dramatic open top machine. Finished in classic silver over a rare Ascot interior, this example combines understated exterior elegance with a richly appointed cabin that wraps the driver in leather, carbon and purposeful switchgear.
With only around 1,270 units produced worldwide between 2003 and 2006, the Carrera GT is a genuinely exclusive modern icon. Showing just 5,300 km, this car offers the rare chance to experience one of the last truly analogue hypercars. A mid engined Porsche that blends motorsport pedigree, manual transmission purity and naturally aspirated V10 theatre in a way no manufacturer will likely repeat.
